Gainsly collects the following information to provide and improve our fitness and nutrition tracking service:
Your data is stored securely on our servers with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Meal photos are analyzed in real time and immediately discarded — they are never stored on our servers.
Gainsly learns your habits — your usual meals, portions, and what phrases like “a little less” mean to you — so logging gets faster. This personal learning is part of your account and is deleted with it.
Gainsly also improves for everyone from patterns across many users, such as typical portion sizes and corrections to food data. These figures are aggregated and de-identified: they are only computed from many people at once, never describe any one person, and cannot be linked back to your account. De-identified, aggregated data may be kept after you delete your account.
Improving Gainsly's models. We may use coach conversations and logging activity — what was said, what Gainsly logged, and the corrections made — to evaluate and train the models and systems that power Gainsly, including models we build ourselves. Before it is used this way, it is separated from your account: names, email addresses and account identifiers are removed, and it is never sold or used for advertising. Google does not use this data to train its models. You can opt out at any time by emailing support@gainsly.me, and deleting your account removes your conversations from any future training.
Gainsly Pro subscriptions and tip purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.
We store your subscription status (active/inactive) and expiration date to manage feature access.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:
If Gainsly is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent in-app notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy. The acquiring entity will be bound by the commitments made in this Privacy Policy with respect to your data until it notifies you of any changes.
This includes your account data and the de-identified, aggregated data described above. It is not a sale of your personal information — it is a transfer of the service and the accounts you created, so your data stays with the product you use, and you can still delete your account at any time.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data including nutritional data, workout history, and account information is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Gainsly is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Gainsly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
